The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of Constables (General Duty) in various defence forces, such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA, etc. Candidates who are eligible and interested in serving in these organisations may submit online applications from 05 September 2024.

SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality/Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Educational Qualification (As of 01-01-2025):
- Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognized board as of 01-01-2025.
Age Limit:
- Candidates must be 18-23 years old as of 01-01-2025 (i.e., born between 02-01-2002 and 01-01-2007).
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service
- Additional relaxations for victims of the 1984 and 2002 riots.
Application Fee:
- Fee: ₹100 (Rupees One Hundred Only).
- Exemptions: Women candidates, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from fee payment.
- Payment Mode: Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Cards.
Selection Process:
The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE): Objective-type exam with 80 questions (General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, English/Hindi) for 160 marks.
- Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify for the CBE will undergo PST/PET.
- Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) to assess their physical and medical fitness.
- Document Verification (DV): Verification of all relevant documents like certificates, age, and educational qualifications will be carried out.

SSC GD Constable Salary Structure 2025
Here is the salary structure for SSC GD Constables, including various allowances:
1. Basic Pay:
- Sepoy in NCB: ₹18,000 (Level 1)
- Constable (GD) in CAPFs: ₹21,700 (Level 3)
2. Allowances:
- Dearness Allowance (DA): Calculated as a percentage of the basic pay (varies with government revisions, typically 17-28%).
- House Rent Allowance (HRA):
- X cities (Metro Cities): 24% of Basic Pay
- Y cities: 16% of Basic Pay
- Z cities: 8% of Basic Pay
- Transport Allowance (TA):
- Depending on the city class (X, Y, Z), this can vary from ₹1,800 to ₹3,600 plus DA.
- Other Allowances:
- Ration Allowance: A fixed amount provided for ration.
