Educational Qualification

To apply for CTET 2024, candidates must meet specific educational qualifications based on the level of teaching they want to pursue. Here’s a simple explanation of the requirements for both Paper I and Paper II:

CTET Paper I (for teaching Classes I-V):
For those who want to teach primary classes (Class I to Class V), candidates should have completed their Senior Secondary (12th grade) or hold a Graduation degree. They must also have a relevant diploma like a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a Diploma in Special Education. These diplomas prepare candidates to teach younger students.

CTET Paper II (for teaching Classes VI-VIII):
For teaching upper primary classes (Class VI to Class VIII), candidates need a Senior Secondary qualification or a Graduation degree. Along with this, they should have completed a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or an integrated education program that combines teaching and subject knowledge. These qualifications equip candidates to teach higher grades.

It is important to check the official notification for the specific eligibility criteria based on the candidate’s academic background and the level they wish to qualify for.

Age Limit

For those aiming to secure teaching positions in Classes I-V (Primary Stage) or Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage) through the CTET 2024 exam, the minimum age requirement is 18 years. This means you must be at least 18 years old to apply.

A key benefit is that there is no upper age limit for the CTET exam. This allows anyone, regardless of age, to apply as long as they are 18 or older. Whether you are starting your career or looking to switch to teaching later in life, you can apply if you meet the educational and other eligibility criteria.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern

The CTET 2024 exam includes two papers, Paper I and Paper II, each with 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). For each correct answer, 1 mark is awarded, and there is no negative marking, so no marks are deducted for wrong answers. The exam is conducted in offline, pen-and-paper mode.

Paper I is for those who wish to teach Classes I to V. Paper II is for those aiming to teach Classes VI to VIII. Both papers are divided into different sections to assess knowledge in various subjects.

CTET Exam Pattern – Paper I (for Classes I to V)
The exam has five sections with 30 questions in each. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 questions, 30 marks
